"Our aim is to encourage schools, districts, and even states all across the country to provide more opportunities for authentic, genuine teacher leadership that doesn't require them to leave their daily role in classrooms," [Arne] Duncan said to an audience largely composed of board-certified teachers. "We'll convene a group of teachers, principals, teachers' groups, and district leaders. They will take the steps necessary not to create some whitepaper that will decorate shelves, but to create real commitments around new opportunities." More at EdWeek

The Teach to Lead initiative provides an opportunity for teachers to share their voices and ideas amongst stakeholders who want to engage in collaborative thinking, designing, problem solving, and innovating in ways to influence policy on multiple levels.

If you can travel to San Diego, join our Teach to Lead to Take the Lead, Fall Summit on November 7-8, where we will host key speakers from the USDOE, NBPTS and NNSTOY

We would enjoy having CCSSO and SCEE members participate and  propel teacher leadership projects forward though P20 interactions that will occur at this event.
