As part of SCEE's mission to inform members of resources, I want to share information about the next round of Fulbright grants. Feel free to disseminate this information in your state or recommend individuals for the grants.
The Fulbright Classroom Teacher Exchange Program (CTE) and the Distinguished Fulbright Awards in Teaching Program (DA) are being offered by the US Department of Education to:
- elementary and secondary classroom teachers,
- guidance counselors,
- curriculum specialists,
- curriculum heads,
- Talented and Gifted coordinators,
- Special Education coordinators, and
- media specialists/librarians.
The grants allow recipients to participate in an international exchange during the 2013-2014 school year.
The CTE Program is a possibility in one of six countries--the Czech Republic, France, Hungary, India, Mexico, and the United Kingdom--while teachers can apply for the DA Program in one of eight countries--Argentina, Finland, India, Mexico, Morocco, Singapore, South Africa, and the United Kingdom.
The program believes that these exchanges will provide educators with new skills and methodologies and allow for valuable time to share best practices with their international colleagues and students. For eligibility requirements, visit the program website, www.fulbrightteacherexchange.org.
The application deadline for the CTE Program is October 15, 2012, and application information is available HERE.
The application deadline for the DA program is December 15, 2012, and application information is available HERE.
