Idaho is the latest state to receive a waiver from certain provisions of the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB), with approval of their application coming October 17.

With Idaho's approval, along with Nevada's application approval on August 8, there are now 34 states, plus the District of Columbia, that have received NCLB waivers. In exchange for the flexibility that was granted, all states and DC have agreed to undertake reforms to increase teacher effectiveness.

Ten other requests for flexibility are still under review.

You may access all the Flexibility applications, approval letters, and peer review notes HERE on the USED website.
