Please hold October 9, 2012, from 2:00 to 3:30 EDT on your calendar for the October SCEE webinar on observation practices in teacher evaluation systems. Presenters from the District of Columbia Public Schools Office of Human Capital will share what they have been learning about building teacher capacity through effective observations.
This webinar will provide SCEE members with the opportunity to:
- become familiar with potential strategies for designing observation processes that yield useful and reliable information for evaluations and support teacher capacity building;
- hear about the skills observers need to conduct observations; and
- consider the state's role in supporting effective observation practices.
DC's Kim Levengood, Director of Teacher Effectiveness Strategy, and Jess Wood, Project Director of Align: TLF Training Platform, will be with us, along with a teacher and principal from the Washington, DC, public schools.
